How do I contact you to make an enquiry?

You can use the contact form on my website HERE or email directly through to info@sammisideup.com  I will try to answer all messages through social media, though I will always request that you then you send through email as it’s easiest for me to keep track of through there.

What do I need to send through?

  • Tattoo Idea
  • Placement on the body
  • Rough size
  • Preferred days/dates
  • Any reference pictures you may have collected
  • Your contact number

It’s been 2 days since I sent an email and I haven’t had a response! What should I do?
I will endeavour to get back to you as soon as I can, though it may take me up to a week to respond around tattooing full time. Thank you in advance for your patience! If you’re enquiring about an appointment within the week or it is in regards to an existing appointment that week, resend your email marked as URGENT! Or call the studio on 03 9939 6241.

How much do you charge?
My rate is $170 per hour for larger/on-going pieces, but smaller pieces can be quoted once the design is complete and the size is determined. Minimum cost is $100.

Do I need a deposit?
Yes.

How much is the deposit?
Between $100 and $200, depending on the tattoo.

What does my deposit cover?
Your deposit secures your appointment/s (it will roll over to the last appointment if you need multiple sessions) and pays for drawing time. It is there as compensation if you do not show up for your appointment.

Does my deposit come off the total cost of my tattoo?
Yes, your deposit will come off the total cost/total of the last session of your tattoo.

Is my deposit refundable?
Deposits are NON REFUNDABLE. They are valid for 6 months, any longer breaks between sessions will require a new deposit.

Do I have to give you notice if I reschedule?
Yes. Please allow at the very least 48 hours notice to reschedule, if you give less than 48 hours notice your deposit will be forfeited.

Can I get a tattoo if I’m under 18?
No.

Even with my parents permission?
No. Not under any circumstances.

Do I need to bring I.D.?
Yes. Proof of I.D. is a must.

Do I need a consultation?
Generally, I like to have a consult prior to the tattoo so we can nut out exactly what you want, but for smaller more specific pieces it isn’t necessary.

Does a consultation cost anything?
No.

Do you take card?
No. Deposits can be paid in cash at the studio or via bank transfer. Tattoo appointment sessions must be paid for in full, in cash, on the day. There are ATM’s all around the studio that we can direct you to if needed.

Do you do cover-ups?
Yes, whether or not it is doable depends on the existing tattoo. Consultation is a must to go through the options available to you.

Will you tattoo a design I bring in?
Reference pictures are great, but I don’t copy other artists work. I will redraw and collaborate with you to create a one off design just for you!

Will I see my design prior to the appointment date?
Tattoo designs will be shown on the day of the appointment.

I’m not sure exactly what I want but I love your work, do you have any designs to choose from?
Yes! I have plenty of designs that I would love to tattoo, you can see a small amount of designs on my Instagram and Facebook , or we can go through more together at a consultation.

How do I prepare for a tattoo?
Eat a healthy meal before coming in, bring a drink/non messy snacks if you like (lollies/nuts are always good) try and have a good rest the night before.

How do I look after my fresh tattoo?
